Design Project of Family House P+P+2K Made of Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) and BIM of House

In the thesis, it was firstly and briefly processed the theoretical part. Later on, characteristics and production of cross-laminated timber accompanied by current trends and examples in the construction industry was shown. The economic side of timber construction is also argued through the project. It is shown why BIM is necessary for the future. The second and the main part of the thesis consists of the case study of the family house, which is also the title of the thesis. The house is designed with all structural elements accompanied by 3D BIM.

The design calculation was done using the FEA software RFEM by Dlubal Software. The static and dynamic calculations of all surface and member elements were executed. These chapters provide complete proof of the load-bearing capacity and the ultimate serviceability according to the European standards. The seismic and stability analysis were also conducted. The calculation of the connections for joining timber elements to each other and on a concrete base are also provided. There are also laminated glass panels between the CLT panels and the timber frames. These elements are also calculated and verified on various actions during their lifetime considering ULS and SLS. Finally, the solution of transport and logistics of materials is shown. The work is accompanied by drawings and graphics from the Autodesk Revit software, in which the BIM model was developed for the coordination during the design.
