The results of various variants of a fin plate, a truss node and a T-stub model are analyzed and evaluated. The aim is to clarify what influence the stiffnesses of the individual connection components have on the stress distribution, whether deviations from a uniform distribution are occurring, and how great the differences are between the FEM analysis and the manual calculation method.
After a short introduction to the corresponding section of the Eurocode and the modeling of the RFEM finite element software by Dlubal, the individual connections are edited and analyzed one after the other, and the stress distributions are evaluated. First, the connection-related question given in the thesis is explained and formulated, if necessary, then the calculation method according to the Eurocode is presented using a calculation example. Afterwards, the creation of the finite element models is documented and finally the results are evaluated to answer the questions stated in the thesis.
