Structural Analysis of Traditional Housing in Southern Morocco

After a historical analysis of the Moroccan architecture and a definition of its construction process, parameters are obtained that allow the modeling of the most common residential typologies in this country. These typologies differ from each other due to various factors that affect their structural behavior; their geometric, constructive, and structural models are specified.

The objective of this thesis is to obtain the results of a structural analysis, and thus numerically explain the behavior of the buildings located in the southern Moroccan territory. In this way, it is possible to understand their daily functionality and behavior with regard to external events, such as earthquakes.
