Consideration of Different Design Concepts of Crane Runway in Steel Hall

The objective of this bachelor's thesis was to construct and dimension a steel crane runway in a steel construction hall (locomotive workshop). In addition to the currently valid standard, DIN EN 1993-6, the DIN standard 18800, which was valid until July 2012, was also considered.

In addition to the governing load positions, which had to be determined, the crane girders were designed according to two standards. The results obtained were then compared and interpreted. Finally, fatigue design checks were carried out at the relevant locations. In addition to the manual calculations, standard calculation software was also used.
