The substantive scope will include the shaping and characteristics of the work of slab-column ceilings, the rules for the distribution of variable loads, structural analysis of slab-column ceilings, serviceability limit state design of the slab-column ceilings, general design recommendations, reinforcement of the ceilings to resist bending moments.
The aim of this year's series of the conferences is to provide the information necessary for direct design, hence all types of the standardization regulations have been adopted as the basis. Where there is no relevant national standardization, foreign standardization provisions were referred to, preferring those that had been more widely used in the country so far. The research results and proprietary design checks are only occasionally given as an illustrative material. The comments given in the text present the author's view on the specific issues of the design of plate-column structures.
The material will be based on the standard [N25], referred to as EC2 for ease, with reference to the still used standard [N21], referred to as PN02 in the text. The "national annexes" to this standard are also included in a selective manner: Polish EC2(P), German EC2(D); British EC2(A), and French EC2(F).
