RFEM 6 and RWIND 2 | Wind Profile Transfer and Wind Load Generation
This video shows the wind simulation and wind load generation in RWIND 2 as a complement to RFEM 6 for complete structural analysis and design. The model is imported into RWIND 2 for a calculation and wind load simulation. Then, the results of the structural analysis can be displayed in RFEM 6.

If you have experimentally determined surface pressures available for a model, you can apply them to a structural model in RFEM 6, process them in RWIND 2, and use them as wind loads in the structural analysis of RFEM 6.

You can display the RWIND results directly in the main program. In the Navigator - Results, select the Wind Simulation Analysis result type from the list above.
Currently, the following results are available, which refer to the RWIND computational mesh:
Use the "Independent mesh preferred" option in the FE mesh settings to create an independent FE mesh for the integrated objects. This allows you to generate a significantly more detailed and precise FE mesh for individual objects that are integrated into one another.
In the "Edit Section" dialog box, you can display the buckling shapes of the Finite Strip Method (FSM) as a 3D graphic.
Main Program
The new generation of 3D FEA software is used for the structural analysis of members, surfaces, and solids.
Add-On
The Form-Finding add-on finds the optimal shape of members subjected to axial forces and tension-loaded surface models. The shape is determined by the equilibrium between the member axial force or the membrane stress and the existing boundary conditions.
Stand-Alone
RWIND 2 is a program (digital wind tunnel) for the numerical simulation of wind flows around any building geometries with determination of the wind loads on their surfaces. It can be used as a stand-alone application or used together with RFEM and RSTAB for complete structural analysis and design.
