[EN] FAQ 004179 | Can I analyze a frame structure behind a building envelope with RWIND Simulation ...

Question:
Can I analyze a frame structure behind a building envelope with RWIND Simulation, without modeling the building envelope? The loads should be distributed on the members.

Answer:
If the building envelope is not modeled, the wind load in RWIND Simulation is only applied on the surfaces of the members. There are no elements that would distribute the pressure between the members. In this case, the "Close Holes" function is not suitable for replacing the surfaces. Thus, automatic transfer of the wind load to RFEM or RSTAB is not possible.

However, you can model the building envelope in RFEM in a separate model and analyze it in RWIND Simulation. Then you can create the wind pressure manually as load using the load generators, for example. The video shows the procedure.
