This video explains how to create a resultant using the graphical method. The geometric solution for this is called a parallelogram of forces. The diagonal of the parallelogram is the vector addition and therefore, also the resultant of the forces.
The negative pressure from a wind load applied to a house is taken as an example. First, the resultants of the two line loads are calculated. Then, the intersection point of the two resulting forces is drawn.
Finally, the parallelogram allows you to draw the resultant to scale. The other option, or the analytical method, is also explained in the next video.
These methods will be modeled and also verified in RFEM in the next tutorial video.
