KB 000883 | Limit Values for Shear Stresses from Torsion in RF-/STEEL EC3
Video
First Steps with RFEM
Description
Very small torsional moments in the members to be designed often prevent certain design formats. In order to neglect them and still perform the designs, you can define a limit value in RF-/STEEL EC3 from which torsional shear stresses are taken into account.

Limit Values for Shear Stresses from Torsion in RF-/STEEL EC3
Very small torsional moments in the members to be designed often prevent certain design formats.

New
- The design of the connection components is performed according to Eurocode EN 1993-1-8
- After activating the Add-on, the design situations for Steel Connections must be activated in the "Load cases and Combinations" dialog box
- For the design of the connection stability (Buckling), it is necessary to have the Add-on Structure Stability activated
- The calculation can be started via the table or via the icon in the top bar
- Are there any recommendations or literature and standard references to the "Limit Values for Stability Analysis" settings in Details of RF‑/STEEL EC3?
- I cannot see any members if the RF‑/STEEL EC3 add-on module is selected as a "load case"; why?
- What does the load application point in RF‑/STEEL EC3 Warping Torsion refer to?
- To which axes do the support rotations and support eccentricities in RF‑/STEEL EC3 Warping Torsion refer?
-
What are the options in RFEM or RSTAB for determining the ideal elastic critical moment for any cross-sections and systems/loads?
Is it also possible to design flat steel (brackets, flat steel stringers of staircases)?
