FE Mesh Refinement of Model in RFEM 6

If you want to refine the FE mesh, you can adjust the element size directly in the mesh settings:

1. In the main menu, go to “Calculation”
2. Select the “Mesh Settings” option
3. In the dialog box that opens, you’ll find the parameter “Target Length of Finite Elements” L_FE
4. Decrease this value to generate a finer FE mesh
5. Confirm your entry and then restart the calculation

The smaller the selected element length, the finer the mesh will be, and the more accurate the results can be.

Note that the FE mesh is only used for surfaces and solids; for members, a corresponding coupling is required instead.
