Generating Loading on Openings from Surface Load
Tips & Tricks
With the ‘Convert Area Loads on Openings to Line Loads’ function, you can now automatically take into account, for example, wind loads on windows or other loads on non‑bearing structures in openings not represented in the model. To start this function, point to ‘Generate Loads’ on the ‘Tools’ menu, and then select ‘From Area Loads on Openings’.
The ‘Convert Area Loads on Openings to Line Loads’ dialog box opens where you specify the properties of the load in the usual way and select the openings for which you want to generate the loading.
After confirming the dialog box by clicking [OK], a control dialog box appears with the sums of the loads and moments. Furthermore, the generated loads are graphically displayed in the work window. By confirming this dialog box, the loads are applied to the model.
