User-Defined Material

Can I also use a user-defined material in RF‑/PLATE‑BUCKLING?

Answer:

In RF-/PLATE-BUCKLING, you can also use user-defined materials. When creating the material in RFEM 5 / RSTAB 8, you need to ensure that the material has the same properties as the steel materials permitted in the standard selected in RF‑/PLATE‑BUCKLING. To do this, select the material from the relevant standard series in the material library and open the "Create New Material" dialog box using the button. You can adjust all specified values here (Image 01).

Furthermore, you can set the filters (Image 02) "Metal" for the material category group, "Steel" for the material category, and "EN" for the standard group to design according to the standard EN 1993‑1‑5 or "DIN" for the standard group to design according to DIN 18800.

However, it is also possible to create the material in the RF‑/PLATE‑BUCKLING add-on module or stand-alone program. The filters "Material Category Group", "Material Category", and "Standard Group" are set by default in the "Material Library" in compliance with the selected standard. When creating a user-defined material, you can leave these filters as they are.
