In this article, we will look at the design of shear connectors of cross‑laminated timber structures that transfer the longitudinal forces of the shear wall to the soil. For now, there is no special module in the Dlubal Software program family. There are, however, some means to obtain the necessary internal forces for the design of the connectors.
Generally, it is useful to define a section of the global system for the design of the connectors, where the internal forces are not determined directly in the coupling zone of the surfaces or directly at the supports. The distance should be chosen relatively small and was just slightly exaggerated in the example for illustration purposes.
In the display of the result diagrams, the according values nxy can be represented by means of a constant zone. Using this value, the fasteners should be designed according to the familiar method.
