Curved Cable-Stayed Bridge: Replacement Construction of Cyclist Bridge Ständerstrasse – A8

Nine student teams from the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Geotechnical Engineering at the Technical University of Munich have developed and visualized individual designs for a cyclist and pedestrian bridge for the replacement construction of the Ständlerstrasse cyclist bridge in Munich – A8 under the direction of the Chair of Metal Structures and their respective engineering offices.

The curved cable-stayed bridge is also included in the design checks. This pedestrian and cyclist bridge spans the highway. The designed bridge aims at realizing a convenient route through the slightly curved bridge without detours or direction changes in order to guide cyclists conveniently over the highway. Due to the fact that this is a filigree bridge, they were able to prevent blocking the view of the Alps and the city in order to present an experience for both motorists and (especially) the users of the bridge.
