RFEM 5 Add-on Modules – Timber Structures
The timber design add-on modules for RFEM 5 design members and surfaces according to the American standards ANSI/AWC, Eurocode 5 and other international standards.
RF-TIMBER Pro Add-on Module for RFEM 5
RF-TIMBER Pro performs the tension, stability, serviceability limit state, and fire resistance design of timber members according to the selected standards.
In addition to the stress analysis, RF‑TIMBER Pro performs the stability analysis of members according to the equivalent member method or the second-order analysis, as well as the serviceability limit state and fire resistance design checks. Furthermore, it is possible to automatically optimize cross-sections.
RF-TIMBER AWC Add-on Module for RFEM 5
The RF-TIMBER AWC add‑on module can carry out the ultimate limit state, serviceability limit state, and fire resistance design checks according to the American standards ANSI/AWC NDS, and covers the design methods of Load and Resistance Factor Design (LRFD) and Allowable Stress Design (ASD).
In addition to the stress analysis, RF‑TIMBER AWC performs the stability analysis of members according to the equivalent member method or the second-order analysis. Furthermore, you can also perform the serviceability limit state and fire resistance design checks.
RF-TIMBER CSA Add-on Module for RFEM 5
The RF-TIMBER CSA add-on module performs the ultimate limit state, serviceability limit state, and fire resistance design checks according to the Canadian standard for timber structures. It includes the Canada Limit States Design (LSD) design method.
In addition to the stress analysis, RF‑TIMBER CSA performs the stability analysis of members according to the equivalent member method or the second-order analysis. Furthermore, the serviceability limit state design and the fire resistance design can be performed.
RF-TIMBER NBR Add-on Module for RFEM 5
RF‑TIMBER NBR performs the ultimate and serviceability limit state design according to the Brazilian standard for timber structures NBR.
The RF-TIMBER NBR add-on module includes an extensive cross-section library and an extensible material library with the standard-specific strength values. In addition to the stress analysis, RF‑TIMBER NBR performs the stability analysis of members according to the equivalent member method or the second-order analysis.
RF-TIMBER SANS Add-on Module for RFEM 5
RF-TIMBER SANS performs the ultimate limit state, serviceability limit state, and fire resistance design checks according to the South African standard for timber structures SANS. It covers the Limit States Design (LSD) and Allowable Stress Design (ASD) design methods.
The RF-TIMBER SANS add-on module includes an extensive cross-section library and an extensible material library with the standard-specific strength values. In addition to the stress analysis, RF‑TIMBER SANS performs the stability analysis of members according to the equivalent member method or the second-order analysis. Furthermore, the serviceability limit state design and the fire resistance design can be performed.
RF-LAMINATE Add-on Module for RFEM 5
The RF-LAMINATE add-on module allows you to perform stress and deflection analysis of laminate surfaces. The calculation can consider shear coupling and is carried out according to the laminate theory.
A local overall stiffness matrix of each surface is created from a user-defined layer structure. The module is suitable, for example, for the design of cross-laminated timber elements and fiber-reinforced plastic.
RF-JOINTS Timber – Steel to Timber Add-on Module for RFEM 5
RF-JOINTS Timber – Steel to Timber is an add-on module for RFEM 5 that allows for the design of joints where timber members are indirectly connected to each other by means of steel plates. The module offers connection elements in the form of pins, such as dowels, screws, nails, and bolts.
You can import the connection parameters from the RF-JOINTS Timber add-on modules. The connected members are imported from the RFEM model. The module automatically checks if all geometric conditions are fulfilled.
RF-JOINTS Timber – Timber to Timber Add-on Module for RFEM 5
The RF-JOINTS Timber – Timber to Timber add-on module designs joints where timber members are directly connected to each other by means of slant screws.
The application allows for the design of pinned joints, considering the biaxial inclination of the connected member (such as a jack rafter joint), for bolt diameters from 6 mm to 12 mm. It performs automatic checks of the minimum distance between screws and optionally provides a free definition of the screw distances.
