FAQ 004263 | A curved pane cannot be designed in RF‑GLASS. Why?

Question:
A curved pane cannot be designed in RF‑GLASS. Why?

Answer:
When modeling a glass pane, in particular an insulating glass pane, special care must be taken in RFEM to ensure that the boundary lines consist of only four lines.

If possible, you should avoid the division of lines, because then the calculation can no longer be carried out. In that case, a corresponding warning message is displayed before the calculation.
If special intermediate nodes are required on the line, make sure that they do not divide the original line when creating them.
If the line has been divided anyway, the structure can be restored with the "Delete Node and Merge Joined Members" command.
In exceptional cases, you can deactivate the use of the layered mesh in the details of the composition. This option was specifically implemented for double-curved panes.
