[EN] FAQ 001443 | How the shear deformation of a member can be taken into account?

Question:
How the shear deformation of a member can be taken into account?

Answer:
Consideration of shear stiffnesses can be set in the "Calculation Parameters" dialog box (see the image). If taking into account the shear deformations, increased deformations result due to shear forces.

The influence of the shear is dependent on the cross-section areas A-y and A-z. These cross-section properties can be displayed in tables or cross-section entries and adjusted, if necessary.
