Stability Analysis for Cap Plate at Frame Joint with STEEL EC3

How can I enter a head plate at a frame joint for the stability analysis of a frame beam in STEEL EC3?

Answer:

You can, for example, calculate a warp spring in the case of the General Method in order to consider the connecting column or end plate (see image).

The following types of warp stiffening are available in the "Edit Warp Spring" dialog box:

  • End plate
  • Channel section
  • Angle
  • Connecting column
  • Cantilevered portion
