New programs and add-ons

1

RFEM 6

RFEM enters the new round with RFEM 6! The new generation of the 3D FEA software is also used for the structural analysis of members, surfaces, and solids. Many of the tried and tested features remain, but we have improved them and also added new features to make your work with RFEM even easier.

What particularly distinguish RFEM 6 is the modern design concept with the add-ons integrated directly into the program. Are you curious?

2

RSTAB 9

We have extensively modernized the 3D structural analysis software RSTAB 9 for you. The add-ons integrated directly into the program allow you to design beam structures consisting of reinforced concrete, steel, timber, masonry, and other materials. Convince yourself!

3

RSECTION 1

Do you already know RSECTION 1? The stand-alone program RSECTION helps you to determine the section properties for any thin-walled and massive cross-sections. Then, it performs a stress analysis. RSECTION combines the programs SHAPE‑THIN and SHAPE‑MASSIVE. Compared to these programs, we have added the following new features in RSECTION:

  • Graphical display of stress components
  • Scripting using Javascript
4

RWIND 2

The stand-alone program RWIND 2 takes care of fresh air. It is used for the numerical simulation of wind flow and is available in a Basic as well as a Pro version. What additional features does RWIND Pro offer you? It allows for the calculation of transient incompressible turbulent wind flows (in addition to the stationary ones in RWIND Basic). But that's not all. Are you interested? Find out more here:

5

Steel Joints

Do you work with steel connections? The Steel Joints add-on for RFEM supports you when analyzing steel connections by using an FE model. In this case, the modeling runs fully automatically in the background. Nevertheless, you can control this process via the simple and familiar input of components. You can then use the loads determined on the FE model for your design of the components according to EN 1993‑1‑8 (including National Annexes).

6

Building Model

Are you afraid that your project will end in the digital tower of Babel? The Building Model add-on for RFEM supports you in your work on a construction project with several stories. It allows you to define and manipulate a building by means of stories. You can adjust the stories in many ways afterwards and also select the story slab stiffness. Information about the stories and the entire model (center of gravity, center of rigidity) is displayed for you in tables and graphics.

7

Masonry Design

Building stone on stone has a long tradition in construction. The Masonry Design add-on for RFEM allows you to design masonry using the finite element method. It was developed as part of the research project DDMaS - Digitizing the Design of Masonry Structures. Here, the material model represents the nonlinear behavior of the brick-mortar combination in the form of macro-modeling. Do you want to find out more?

8

Optimization & Costs / CO2 Emission Estimation

You can be sure that costs are an important factor in the structural planning of any project. It is also essential to adhere to the provisions on emissions estimation. The two-part add-on Optimization & Costs/CO2 Emission Estimation makes it easier for you to find your way through the jungle of standards and options. It uses the artificial intelligence technology (AI) of the particle swarm optimization (PSO) to find the right parameters for parameterized models and blocks that guarantee the compliance with the usual optimization criteria. This add-on also estimates the model costs or CO2 emissions by specifying unit costs or emissions per material definition for the structural model. With this add-on, you are on the safe side.

9

Time-Dependent Analysis (TDA)

Do you have great respect for the ravages of time? After all, it eventually gnaws at your construction projects. Use the Time-Dependent Analysis (TDA) add-on to consider the time-dependent material behavior of members. Long-term effects, such as creep, shrinkage, and aging, can influence the distribution of internal forces, depending on the structure. Prepare for this optimally with this add-on.

10

Webservice and API

Webservice and API opens up a wide range of new possibilities for you. You can create your own desktop or web-based applications by controlling all objects included in RFEM 6 and RSTAB 9. By providing libraries and functions, you can develop your own design checks, effective modeling of parametric structures, as well as optimization and automation processes using the programming languages Python and C#. Does that sound exciting to you? Then find out more here!
