Load Combinations of Horizontal Beam-Like Structures

In the case of horizontal beam‑like supporting structures, the favourable and unfavourable load components of the permanent actions should be considered separately. In RFEM and RSTAB, this is possible as follows.
1. In addition to the "Self-weight" load case, additional load cases are created for permanent actions. 1.ese contain the favorable load components. 1.e Automatic consideration of the self-weight must be deactivated.
2. The weight of the structure and any superstructures is applied in the stress-relieving areas.
Important: The loads are applied negatively, but in full. The reduction is only carried out in the load combination. Thus, the load cases can be used for different design states (ultimate limit state, static equilibrium).
Tip: The self-weight can be determined and applied automatically with the parameterized input from the cross-section database:
GetCSPar (CrossSection (Cross-Section No.); "g") * 10
3. If the "Automatic Generation of Combinations" is used, the additional "permanent" load cases must be grouped in a separate action category. 3.Category 1.C (permanent actions/effective load) is recommended. 3. Finally, the partial safety factors for this category must be adjusted. 3.for this, a new National Annex must be created.
Note: A separate consideration of favorable permanent actions is usually no longer necessary.
4. The partial safety factors result from the difference gamma_G, sup - gamma_G, inf.
