Structural Diagnosis and Design of Existing Timber Structure in Soria, Spain

The project covers the design of the timber structure of a traditional house located in the area of Pinares, Soria. It is a single-family house between party walls that date back to before the beginning of the 20th century, and may be up to 300 years old.

Structure

The structure has been modified on several occasions (1945, 1983), to respond to changes in needs and to add reinforcement.

Structural Analysis

After a diagnosis of possible pathologies, the structural design of the building was carried out in RFEM to check whether it would be possible to comply with the requirements of the current regulations. For this purpose, the timber design according to Eurocode 5 and the stability analysis were carried out.
