For Structures Consisting of Timber Materials
The main programs RFEM and RSTAB are based on a modular software system. The following list provides an overview of the add-on modules optionally available for the industry of timber structures.
The add-on modules of RFEM and RSTAB for timber structures design members and surfaces according to Eurocode 5 and other international standards.
The RF-/TIMBER Pro add‑on module performs stress and stability analysis as well as the serviceability limit state and fire resistance design of timber members according to EN 1995‑1‑1 (EC 5), SIA 265, and DIN 1052.
Numerous National Annexes are available for the design according to EC 5.
The RF-/TIMBER AWC add‑on module can carry out designs of the ultimate limit state, the serviceability limit state, and the fire resistance, according to the American standard ANSI/AWC NDS‑2015. It covers design methods according to:
- Load and Resistance Factor Design (LRFD)
- Allowable Stress Design (ASD)
The RF-/TIMBER CSA add‑on module performs the ultimate and serviceability limit state designs according to the Canadian standard CSA 086‑09 and CSA 086‑14. It covers the design method of:
- Limit States Design (LSD)
The RF‑/TIMBER NBR add‑on module performs the ultimate and serviceability limit state design according to the Brazilian timber construction standard NBR 7190:1997.
The RF-/TIMBER SANS add-on module can carry out designs of the ultimate limit state, the serviceability limit state, and the fire resistance according to the South African timber construction standards SANS 10163‑1:2003 and SANS 10163‑2:2001.
The RF-LAMINATE add‑on module is used for the stress and deflection analysis of laminate or sandwich surfaces.
The module is a perfect tool for the design of cross‑laminated timber plates (CLT), among other things.
The RF-/JOINTS Timber - Steel to Timber add‑on module designs joints indirectly connected by means of steel plates. The following dowel-type fasteners are available: dowels, bolts, nails, and screws. The design is performed according to:
- EN 1995‑1‑1 (including National Annexes)
