We provide hints and tips to help you get started with the main programs RFEM and RSTAB.
Are warping stresses in structural components (for example, an I-section cantilever) that are subject to torsion considered in the add-on module STEEL?
No, warping stresses are not considered in such structural components.
In RSTAB or STEEL, warping torsion is of no importance, and the warping resistance has no influence.
The STEEL module calculates the torsional stresses using MT/WT or MT/(IT/z), which of course represents an approximation and cannot be compared with the warping torsion.
In the moment, warping is considered only in the modules FE-LTB and SHAPE-THIN.

Your support is by far the best
“Thank you very much for the useful information.
I would like to pay a compliment to your support team. I am always impressed how quickly and professionally the questions are answered. In the industry of structural analysis, I use several software including service contract, but your support is by far the best.”
