The modulus of elasticity of the material is reduced for the design checks in accordance with EC 3, but not for the internal forces, as this is not intended in the method described in DIN EN 1993‑1‑2. It is always assumed that the structure is cold. When calculating the internal forces, you only need to consider internal restraint from temperature loads, if this exists.
Fire Resistance Design and Load Redistribution
For the fire resistance design, the modulus of elasticity is reduced. I assume that this applies to the design first. However, to what extent is a stiffness change in the structural system and thus a load redistribution considered?
