Can I also apply the "From Area Loads on Members via Plane" to members that do not lie in one plane?


In principle, the "From Area Loads on Members via Plane" option is only intended for members in a plane, which is how it works best. For structures in which the members lie, not in a plane, but some areas, the extra option "From Area Loads on Members via Cells" may be the better choice. Here, you can use dummy members to create closed cells consisting of 3 members, which can then be stressed.

Otherwise, there are the tolerance settings in the Extra, which allow members to be considered outside of a plane. These details can be displayed as shown in Figure 1.
