Exporting and Importing Favorites Groups of Cross-Section
Tips & Tricks
The cross-section library in RFEM 5 and RSTAB 8 offers you the option to save particular cross‑sections in a favorites group. You can then activate the groups in the cross‑section library. Thus, you can display only those cross‑sections in the library that you defined in the list. Furthermore, you can use these cross‑section lists for the optimization process in the design modules. For all cross‑sections in the list, the modules then perform the design for all concerned members with the provided internal forces, and then the programs display the cross‑section with the best possible design ratio.
Because some users work only with particular cross‑section catalogs, RFEM provides you the option to safe your user‑defined favorites groups. Thus, you can define a favorites list on one computer, and by using the ‘Export all favorites groups as file’ command, you can export it to a *.fav file, and then open it locally on other computers by using the ‘Import favorites groups from file’ command. Thus, all engineers in a company can work with a unified cross‑section catalog.
