Fire Resistance Design
Tips & Tricks
The reinforced concrete design for a fire situation is calculated according to the simplified method of EN 1992‑1‑2, Section 4.2. For this purpose, the zone method described in Appendix B.2 is used. The reduced resistance under fire exposure is represented by a reduction of the component cross‑section and therefore a reduction of the strengths.
After the calculation in CONCRETE or RF‑CONCRETE Members, the damaged zone is graphically illustrated in the cross‑section. Also the temperature course in equivalent wall is useful for the evaluation.
