The reinforced concrete design for fire situations is carried out by the simplified method according to EN 1992-1-2, clause 4.2. The zone method described in Annex B.2 is used here. The reduced load-bearing capacity under fire effects is represented by a reduction of the structural component's cross-section and a reduction of the stiffnesses.
After the calculation, the damaged zone is graphically illustrated in the cross‑section. Also the temperature course of the equivalent wall is useful for the evaluation.
