The focus of this customer project is a form traveler designed by Huaxi Engineering Technology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. It is part of the on-site construction of the Mabian River Bridge on the Le-Xi Expressway. The main bridge of the Mabian River Bridge is a three-directional prestressed concrete structure with a total length of 310 m (1,017 ft). The main girder features a single-cell, single-chamber section with separated slabs. Each slab has a top width of 12.6 m (41.3 ft) and a bottom width of 7.1 m (~23 ft), with the cantilevered flanges extending 2.75 m (9 ft) on both sides.
Given the dimensions and weight of the main girder, the form traveler segments were constructed with a trackless triangular hanging basket. The main structure of the basket weighs approximately 80 t (~88.1 US t), with the formwork and scaffolding system contributing an additional 10 t (~11 US t). This results in a total weight of around 95 t (104.7 US t). The hanging basket consists of a load-bearing system, front and rear upper/lower crossbeams, a suspension system, upper and lower rear anchoring systems, a traveling system, inner and outer sliding-beam formwork scaffolding systems, and a base formwork platform.
