Question:
I have imported an IFC file via the CAD/BIM interface. How does the conversion of IFC elements into members/surfaces/solids work?

Answer:
In principle, you can select the IFC elements graphically. When you open the shortcut menu (right-click the mouse button), you can decide for each element whether you want to convert it to a member, surface, or solid.
The required information must be available when converting into a member. In the CAD/BIM Navigator, you can access the information for the respective IFC objects. If the corresponding cross-section and material descriptions have been assigned, the transformation can be carried out without further adjustments. The "Define cross-section, material, and surface thickness for conversion" option is deactivated. If the descriptions do not correspond to those of the Dlubal libraries, you can use the conversion tables (see: https://www.dlubal.com/en-US/support-and-learning/support/knowledge-base/000794).
If no information has been provided, it is possible to specify the cross-section and material before the conversion. It is necessary to select the check box.
