A surface of my RFEM structure lies in an inclined position in the 3D space. Now I want to create surfaces which are perpendicular to it.
Is there any easier and more accurate way than calculating the point coordinates of the new surfaces manually, or than attaching the new surfaces to the existing one by rotating or moving it?
Yes, aligning new structural elements to existing ones is very easy and is already possible when defining them.
Go to the "Tools" menu and select "Coordinate System". A dialog box opens where you find the button "Create New User-Defined Coordinate System".
You can use this button to create a user-defined system of coordinates with which the work planes are aligned. If you choose the points defining the coordinate system in such a way that they are corner points of the existing surface, one plane of the new system of coordinates is already determined by that surface plane, and the other two work planes will be perpendicular to it.
