Deactivating Objects by Load

How can I deactivate certain objects, such as members, surfaces, or supports, by load case?

Answer:

The deactivation of objects by load case can be implemented as follows:

  • "Edit Load Case" button → "Load Cases and Combinations" dialog box
  • "Load Cases" tab → activate "Structure Modification" → Create or Edit New Structure Modification; see Image 01

  • "Edit Structure Modification" dialog box → "Deactivate Objects"; see Image 02

  • "Deactivate Objects" tab → deactivate the corresponding objects and create the object selection; see Image 03

Of course, both the structural modification and the object selection can be created independently in advance using the Data navigator:

The structural modifications are located in the "Special Objects" folder and the object selections under Guide Objects.

Both objects can be used for other situations or load situations, and must, therefore, only be created once.
