Automatic Renumbering

When modeling a structure, irregular numbering of objects may occur due to copying, dividing lines and members, and so on. Automatic renumbering allows you to restructure the numbering and thus to improve the clear arrangement. This function is applicable to nodes and members as well as for lines, surfaces, and solids in RFEM.

One of the frequently asked questions concerns the numbering priorities. For this, a small example is presented (see the image), which is limited to nodes.

The ultimate goal is to number the floor framework along the Y‑axis consecutively, in ascending order. Thus, the first priority is clear. Now, each frame has to be considered individually. Although the numbering is to be greater along the X‑axis, each column should be numbered upwards consistently. When setting the priority, you should again follow the ultimate goal first (the X‑axis) and then the corresponding details (the Z‑axis). Since the Z‑axis is directed downwards, the numbering direction has to be changed to negative. You can see the desired result in the image.
