A slender, elegant bridge for pedestrians and cyclists connects the old town and the hospital town of the large district town of Eichstätt, Germany. This customer project was awarded with the "Bavarian Engineering Award 2023" and the "Ernst & Sohn Engineering Construction Award 2024" – and rightly so, because it really is something special.
In June 2023, a roof of the amphitheater of the Municipal Theater in Most was successfully completed. The membrane structure has been specially designed to provide protection from the sun and rain above the stage, while making the entire space a visual attraction. The author of the design is Carl Stahl & spol.; the calculation was carried out using the programs RFEM 5 and RWIND 2.
At the end of April 2023, a new aviary was completed at the Sichuan Pavilion in the Prague Zoo. The aviary structure has a length of 14 m and a width of 10 m. The company Carl Stahl & spol. created the architectural and structural design, calculated in RFEM 5.
The bridge structure of Isarsteg as integrating artwork fits perfectly into the surrounding landscape. Taking nature as an example, the bridge spans the Isar river like a branched limb. Together, the ramps, stairs, columns, and horizontal beams represent the spatial framework. The pedestrian and cycle bridge, 525 ft long in total, was made of weather-resistant structural steel, S355 J2G2W (corten steel).
In October 2013, the "Walsersteg", a bridge for pedestrians and cyclists built across the Loisach River, opened in the south of the old town of Wolfratshausen in Germany. The bridge connects the existing traffic routes on both sides of the river. The uncovered bridge spans the Loisach without columns and has a pylon guyed on one side. The structure has a width of 9.8 ft and a span width of 150.9 ft.
