🌍 Pedestrian and Bicycle Timber Bridge Design in Nové Město nad Metují 🌉

Dlubal Software is pleased to present the design of a pedestrian and bicycle timber bridge as part of the Metuje River Valley revitalization in Nové Město nad Metují. This design is part of the Master's thesis by Malika Urinova, CTU | Faculty of Civil Engineering, Czech Republic.

Bridge Specifications:
Span: 18 meters

Materials:

▪️ Supporting Arches: Glued-laminated timber (GL24h), rectangular cross-section

▪️ Other Elements: Structural solid wood

▪️ Deck: Transverse beams of structural wood with longitudinal wooden planks

▪️ Guardrail: Diagonal and horizontal reinforcements of structural solid wood

Structural Details:
▪️ Supporting Structure: Two curved arches anchored to reinforced concrete footings

▪️ Wind Analysis: Conducted in RWIND 3, confirming favorable aerodynamic performance

▪️ Static Assessment: Performed in RFEM 6, ensuring compliance with serviceability and ultimate limit states, with all deformations and stresses within limits

Sustainability:

All the wooden components are treated with a protective finish to ensure durability against weathering, UV radiation, and biological degradation.
