If the dimensions of side lengths also change after the plate thickness is increased, this is due to the setting that the punching cone should be inside the foundation plate.
You can specify this behavior in the input windows using the "Details" button. Here you can find the "Punching Cone within Foundation Plate" option.
In order to freely define the geometry, unselect this option.
