How can I determine the deformation in the cracked state of concrete using the
a) required minimum reinforcement
b) required calculated reinforcement?

Answer

The two options in the "Serviceability Limit State" tab of Window 1.1 control whether to use the analytical or the nonlinear method for the check (see Figure 1).

a) For the nonlinear calculation in the serviceability limit state, you must specify the provided longitudinal reinforcement (see Figure 2).

b) By selecting the "Use required reinforcement for design of serviceability" check box, you carry out the SLS design using the amount of reinforcement determined for the ultimate limit state (Figure 3).
