Modeling Miter Joint in Steel Joints Add-on

I would like to design a miter joint between two double T-beams using the Steel Joint add-on. How can I model this?

Answer:

The following steps can be carried out for this.

  1. Accurately measure the angle between the beams
  2. Create an auxiliary plane for the cut. The plane is rotated so that it halves the angle between the beams.
  3. Cut the two beams on the auxiliary plane
  4. Add a weld between the members, as well as Member 1 | Flange 2 and Member 2 | Flange 2. The butt weld is placed on the front side.
  5. Add a weld between Member 1 | Flange 1 and Member 2 | Flange 1. The butt weld is arranged on the back here, as otherwise it would be split and would have to be welded from the inside.
