Using Formula Editor with Reference to Line Grid Input

In the formula editor, you can specify any parameters (lengths, force magnitudes, etc.) to control the load and geometry data for modeling purposes.

In addition to the manual definition of parameter values, you have now also the option to specify a reference to a line grid. Here, you can enter any line grid distance of a line grid definition as parameter and use it for a subsequent calculation in the formula editor.

The according function is the following:

\$linegrid(no,direction,row,column)

where
• no = Number of the line grid definition
• direction = Direction of the line grid, from which the distances are to be taken
• row = Table row
• column = Table column

This function is very useful if the global dimensioning of the structure in dependence of the coordinates is needed for the calculation of a parametric load. The example in the picture shows how the axis segments are summed up for the determination of the total dimensioning.
