Modeling Spring Using Trajectories
Tips & Tricks
In RFEM, you can create screw lines using the line of type “Trajectory”. For this, you need a center line / guide line about which the line can be modeled, as well as a start and end point. Then, you can create a line of type Trajectory between the start and end point, which initially appears as a straight line.
In the “Edit Line” dialog box (available when you double‑click the line, for example), there is a new “Trajectory” tab, which includes the settings of the special type. In this tab, you can select a guide line and a rotation angle about the guide line. Finally, assign the created helix to a member in order to complete the model of a spring.
