In order to model the load transfer from the slab into the columns with sufficient accuracy and run the calculation by the program, a nodal mesh refinement is required at the upper ends of the columns. You can create this in the Navigator under "Types for Nodes".
A dialog box appears where you can select the shape of the mesh refinement. Depending on the geometry, it is possible to specify further details, such as the radius and the desired inner FE length for a circular mesh refinement. You can assign the mesh refinement to the nodes using the
button. To do this, look at the model from the +Z direction and drag a window over the eight nodes on the columns in the front and center of the building.
