Question:
For an imperfection, I receive Warning No. 12211 saying that the members consist of differing rotations. What can I do?
Answer:
Imperfections are applied parallel to the local y‑axis or z‑axis of a member. If you select a set of members as the reference for the imperfection, all members contained in the set of members should have the same orientation and the set of members should be straight.
To check if the members are all parallel to each other, you can use the feature "Select Special" → "Members" → "Parallel to Member". For this, please watch the video.
If the member is not parallel, we recommend checking the coordinates of the nodes and aligning them, if necessary. Provided that there are no other members connected to the nodes, it is also possible to simply pull the end nodes of the non-parallel member towards each other.
