We provide hints and tips to help you get started with the main programs RFEM and RSTAB.
Is it possible to use the symmetry of a symmetric structure to save half of the work load?
In RSTAB and RFEM; it is not possible to use the symmetry of the structure to calculate only half of the system.
It is, however, possible to create only half of the system including the loads and then to generate the other half. To do this, select the entire structure by selecting on the menu "Edit" --> "Select" --> "All." Then select on the menu "Edit" --> "Mirror."
In the "Mirror" dialog box, select the "Create copy" check box. Then click [Details]. In the "Detail Settings for Move/Rotate/Mirror" dialog box, select the "Copy including loading" check box.
In this way, you can also omit the supports in the mirror axis and obtain more realistic results.

Your support is by far the best
“Thank you very much for the useful information.
I would like to pay a compliment to your support team. I am always impressed how quickly and professionally the questions are answered. In the industry of structural analysis, I use several software including service contract, but your support is by far the best.”
