The Ritz Hotel is a 5-star luxury hotel located in Madrid. It was built by King Alfonso XIII in 1910 as a royal hotel. After more than 100 years in service, it is currently undergoing complete renovation.
The renovation includes the construction of a large new skylight above the main hall.
RFEM 6 includes the Form-Finding add-on to determine the equilibrium shapes of surface models subjected to tension and members subjected to axial forces.

Since July 2020, the Frankfurt City Forest once again has a lookout tower. The old Goethe Tower was completely burned down due to arson in October 2017. The new Goethe Tower was designed close to the original design from 1931.
The subject of this bachelor's thesis is the comparison of stress distributions in typical steel structures. For this, the simplified manual calculation method according to the current Eurocode and an FEM analysis with the relevant computer software are compared.
