Structure
The sluice with flap gate is used to control the water level of a weir of the new Niederfinow boat lift on the east end of the Oder-Havel Canal in Germany.The width of the flap is 30 ft and the total width of the structure is 34 ft. It is possible to dam water to a maximum height of 18 ft.
The calculated structure consists of 3,244 nodes, 6 solids, 607 surfaces, and 187 members with 3 different cross‑sections. The object has a total mass of approximately 33 tons and is made of S 355 steel.
