I have a floor slab supported on a wall panel. The wall panel is supposed to absorb only axial forces. Therefore, I inserted a line hinge between the surfaces and defined it so that hinges are present for all internal forces except for those in the direction of ux.
Although no hinge has been defined for ux, the slab deforms without being supported by the wall panel. Where is the error?
A line hinge is the correct structural element for defining the connection between the individual surfaces. However, the hinge definitions of the line hinge do not refer to the internal forces in the surface, but to the local coordinate system of the line hinge.
If only axial forces are to be transferred into the wall panel, no hinge is to be defined for the direction uz. All other hinge directions are to be set as hinged.
