Calculation
You can calculate the load cases of the building model as described in Chapter Starting Calculation of the RFEM manual.
This chapter presents the results that are available after an analysis with the Building Model add-on. It is possible to evaluate the internal forces for each shear wall by story. Depending on the definition of the story slab stiffness, the internal forces are output in walls and/or slabs.
Principle of the analysis
The calculation of the building model depends on the floor modeling. In this case, the building is always calculated as a global 3D model first. If the floors are modeled using rigid or semi-rigid planes, a second phase follows in which each slab is analyzed locally as a 2D model. Depending on the nodal and line support modeling, the results are then transferred to the model and displayed on the building together with the results of the walls (from the global calculation). You can check the results of each phase on the model.
