This large-scale convention and exhibition center combines cultural, commercial, and technological functions. Among other things, exhibitions can be held and conferences can take place here.
Structure
The architectural design of the Silk Road International Exhibition Center is an interpretation of and response to the old city wall and the cityscape of Xi'an with modern architecture. The walls of the exhibition hall are made of natural stone, and the stone wall with a certain inclination adopts the formal language of the old city wall of Xi'an. Corresponding to the sturdy base, the lightweight and streamlined design of the roof is placed above, with wave-shaped roofs evoking memories of the billowing sand dunes on the Silk Road.
The hall building stands out from the exhibition hall building. The super-high entrance gate is intended to replicate the cultural symbol of the city gate. The facade enables visitors to see the entrance from afar. The staggered roof forms a stepped roof overhang, expanding from the inside to the outside, and is supported by huge cross-shaped columns. These cross columns are haunched and taper upwards.
The Dlubal customer Huana Engineering Consulting (Beijing) Co., Ltd. was responsible for the design of the facade structure of this project. The engineers used RSTAB from Dlubal Software to develop, model, calculate, and design the facade.
