Do you always know where the wind is blowing from? From the direction of innovation, of course! With RWIND 3, you have a program at your side that uses a digital wind tunnel for the numerical simulation of wind flows. The program simulates these flows around any building geometry and determines the wind loads on the surfaces.

Concrete Design for RFEM 6

Concrete Design for RFEM 6

The add-on for RFEM and RSTAB allows you to design members, member sets, and surfaces (RFEM only).

The design is carried out according to the specific standards for ultimate limit state and serviceability limit state.

Reinforced concrete, a composite material made of concrete and reinforcing steel, is characterized by its high strength and ductility. These properties make it a versatile and popular building material in the construction industry.

The add-on for RFEM and RSTAB allows for design checks of members, member sets, and surfaces (only in RFEM). Display of a staircase with a center support and integrated upper and lower landing surfaces.

Members and Surfaces

The add-on allows you to precisely and transparently design members, member sets, and surfaces made of reinforced concrete cross-sections with regard to the ultimate and serviceability limit states.

  • Automatic import of internal forces from RFEM/RSTAB
  • Ultimate limit state and serviceability limit state design checks
  • User-defined limit values and parameters based on the integrated National Annexes (NA)
  • Flexibility due to detailed setting options for basis and extent of calculations
  • Fast and clear results output for an immediate overview of the result distribution after the design
  • Graphical output of results integrated in RFEM/RSTAB; for example, design check ratios or required reinforcement
  • Numerical results clearly arranged in tables and graphical display of the results in the model
  • Integration of the output into the RFEM/RSTAB printout report
  • Hardware and System Requirements

Main Features of Concrete Design

Features Concrete Design | Member Design Surface Design Input Results All Features
Concrete design add-on for RFEM and RSTAB, featuring member, member set, and surface design capabilities.

Advantages of Concrete Design

  • Dimensioning of surfaces, beams, and compression members in just one add-on
  • Free definition of the reinforcement directly in the main program
  • Detailed documentation of the component design checks
  • Interaction of members and surfaces in a deformation analysis
  • Output of cross-section resistance using interaction diagrams
  • Definition of different integration widths of ribs in a member
  • Consideration of the surface reinforcement in the rib design
Intuitive Design of Concrete Structures

Design and verify reinforced concrete structures – including deformation analysis, bending design, and cross-section stresses.

  • Graphical Display of Cross-Section Stresses

The Concrete Design add-on allows you to display the stresses and strains of a concrete cross-section and reinforcement as either a 3D stress image or a 2D graphic. Depending on the selected results in the design details, the stresses or strains are shown in the defined longitudinal reinforcement under load actions or limit internal forces.

  • 3D My-Mz-N Interaction Diagram

The Concrete Design add-on offers a 3D My-Mz-N interaction diagram for reinforced concrete cross-sections, helping visualize the ultimate limit state. You can easily check if the limit resistance is exceeded and customize the diagram's appearance to suit your needs.

  • Punching Shear Reinforcement

In the Concrete Design add-on, you have the option to define an existing vertically oriented punching shear reinforcement. They can consist of stirrups or headed studs. The punching reinforcement is then taken into account in the punching shear design.

    • Go to Explanatory Video
  • Deformation Analyses

The Concrete Design add-on provides deformation analyses for reinforced concrete surfaces, including cracked ones (state II), using methods like ACI 318-19 and EN 1992-1-1. It accounts for tension stiffening between cracks and can include creep and shrinkage. Results are displayed graphically and numerically, with full integration into the RFEM printout report.

Member Design

Use this add-on to define the parameters of the longitudinal, transverse, and torsional reinforcement, as well as the neutral axis depth, the edge and steel deformations. In the program, you can consider the deformations in cracked state (state II) according to ACI 318‑19 and EN 1992‑1‑1, check tension stiffness, monitor creep, shrinkage and fatigue according to EN 1992‑1‑1, perform seismic analyses according to EC 8, and calculate many other indicators.

More Info

Surface Design

In the program, you can find the option of free two-strip reinforcement, the design options to avoid the reinforcement bending, compression, or shear, and many options for defining the reinforcement.

The program allows you to define and design sections, consider stiffness and creep, and obtain a precise breakdown of the causes of non-designable situations.

Design strips allow you to lay reinforcement efficiently and automatically determine the anchorage length.
