1. Who are you?

2. What studies did you do, and how did you come to Dlubal?

I studied civil engineering at Minho University in Portugal and Czech Technical University in Prague, Czech Republic. Shortly after finishing my studies, I started at Dlubal Software, which gave me the opportunity to use my technical background and know-how in languages.

3. What are your tasks?

My tasks are all around the Portuguese version of the Dlubal products, which includes, among others, the translation, development and testing of the programs, keeping the contents on the webpage up-to-date and providing support for customers.

4. What is important in your job?

It is important to understand and interpret well the technical part and the linguistic part, in order to obtain an understandable and logic software in Portuguese (or any other language).

5. What are you looking forward when you come into work in the morning?

At work, I look forward to the friendly and calm environment of our office, to chat with colleagues about what is going on at work and in the world and at the end of the day, having all tasks solved.

6. What do you like about construction?

In general, I like the mathematical approach of constructions, which consists in providing the structures with enough strength in order to resist all the actions that will occur. RFEM/RSTAB is ideal to visualize this interaction.

7. What has been the best experience so far?

The best experience at Dlubal is seeing months and years of work, culminating in perfectly working software programs. This and customers satisfied using them.

8. What is your hobby? How do you combine it with your job?

My hobbies are practising sports like running, swimming, cycling and football as well as travelling and food experiences. The flexibility of the working hours is a great help for planning the week.

9. What advice would you give to young civil engineers and graduates for the future?
