Is it possible to perform a fire resistance design for a rib?

Answer

No, this is unfortunately not possible.


In the current state of development of RFEM and RSTAB, it is only possible to design rectangular and circular cross-sections with the add-on module RF-CONCRETE Members or CONCRETE.

If rib members and regular members in a reinforcement group are selected for design in the add-on module RF-CONCRETE Members, the rib members are automatically removed from this reinforcement group. They contain a note in this regard, as shown in Figure 01.


If only one rib member is selected for design in a reinforcement group, you see that the fire resistance design is not possible for this cross-section element. See the following graphic:
